A brief history
Tradition
Our company's history starts back in the beginnings of the
20th century, when the first Romanian company of explosives
was established as a joint-venture between Nobel Company and
the Romanian State.
Since then, our range of products has extended on a
permanent basis, leading today to a wide variety of products,
with characteristics tailored to the client's specific needs.
Production
Double base propellants (reactive, tubular and
lamellar): double base colloidal propellants have
been produced in Fagaras since 1939. Our technology is
well-established and safe, resulting in a wide variety of
physical, chemical and geometrical properties.
High explosives: We currently manufacture three types
of high explosives: pentrite (PETN), hexogen (RDX), TNT and
EPH-89 plastic explosive. These high explosives can be
produced as non-phlegmatised, phlegmatised and recrystalised
types.
Triple base propellants: we have asimilated the triple
base propellants into production as a result of Romania's
integration in NATO, supporting this way the gradual migration
to NATO-accepted products and standards.
Products for non-military use: we produce boosters and
demolition charges for quarries. Also, we recently developed
the flexible cumulative cutting charge for metal cutting in
underwater or inaccessible conditions for comventional
methods. Another are of interest is the pharmaceutical
industry, for which we provide specific products.

The future
After Romania has been accepted in North Atlantic Treaty
Organisation, the main goal of our company is to provide every
product and service compliant with the NATO standards (as well
as US military standards).
Facing the constant shrinking of markets for defence
products, we are aiming at reconverting part of our facilities
to produce other goods that are required by the civilian
market.
Geographical location
We are located in Fagaras, inthe middle of Romania, very
close and to the North of the Meridional Carpathians, between
the cities of Brasov and Sibiu. European Way E68 and a
railroad are in close reach.
The nearest airport (Sibiu) is at ~75 km from Fagaras and
the nearest harbour (Constanta - Black Sea) is at ~450 km.
